Barb Warren Sculptural Pots
Hand crafted in Ōhoka, Christchurch by Barb Warren these are one of a kind. Something interesting for those who like to be uniquely different.
In regard to the mud, the clay used is typically sourced from commercial but locally available Waikato clays in the North Island of New Zealand. It is heavily grogged. Occasionally, Barb will incorporate some brown home-dug clay or a white china-like clay obtained from the Buller region of the West Coast of NZ, after investing considerable effort. However, her personal clay supply is generally limited, as anyone familiar with the challenges of clay excavation can understand.
All of Barb's work is fired to a temperature of 1220 degrees or higher, resulting in stoneware that is mostly food-grade safe.
