Oolong tea contains antioxidants which are found to increase heart health when consumed on a regular basis. Regular tea drinkers may also see a reduction in their blood pressure and cholesterol levels as a result of drinking oolong tea in NZ.

Some studies have also shown that drinking oolong tea may also be beneficial when attempting to lose weight. Polyphenol antioxidants are found in oolong tea, which can help activate enzymes that allow you to use stored fat for energy use when exercising. These polyphenols in combination with caffeine can help to increase the amount of fat you can burn in a day.

Oolong tea has also been connected with improved brain function when consumed regularly. The caffeine component of the tea can help to increase the release of norepinephrine and dopamine, which can be beneficial for your brain’s functionality as well as your overall mood. A rare and exquisite Oolong tea with notes of honey, flowers, poached stone fruit, muscatel and a slight earthiness. Champagne Oolong, put this on your top shelf like a fine wine and enjoy every amazing cup.
The rarity of this tea lies in how it is grown. The leaves themselves are bitten by green leaf-hoppers while still growing, this causes a reaction in the leaves to release additional polyphenols, tannins, and aromatic compounds that act as a defence mechanism. The result is a pleasurable honey-like flavour. Young leaves and tips are used and heavily oxidized to achieve the slightly baked and woody flavour. A great cup for connoisseurs and those new fine teas.
