Sustainability isn’t just a trend - it’s a way of life. We take great care in ensuring that our sourcing practices honour both the environment and the traditions that have guided us for generations.

Thoughtful Sourcing Local & Global

We prioritise wild-harvested and organic ingredients, selecting only the finest botanicals from trusted growers and suppliers who share our values.

Native New Zealand Botanicals

We feel a deep responsibility to ensure that our native plants are harvested with care and integrity. Wherever possible, we use locally grown, wild-harvested ingredients from Aotearoa. Our Rongoā Māori plants like Kawakawa, Mānuka, Horopito, and Karamu are sourced with respect for tikanga (customs) and traditional Māori harvesting practices.

Certified Organic & Ethical Global Ingredients

For ingredients not native to New Zealand - such as Japanese Sencha, South American Yerba Mate, and Egyptian Chamomile - we work with certified organic farms and fair trade suppliers who uphold sustainable cultivation methods. Every ingredient is free from synthetic pesticides, artificial flavours, and additives, ensuring a pure, natural brew every time.

Sustainability at Every Step

  • Sustainability isn’t just about what goes into our teas, it’s about how we protect the planet at every stage of the process.

✅ Wild-Harvested & Organic – We source from regenerative farms and wild harvesters to protect biodiversity.
✅ Eco-Friendly Packaging – We’re committed to using compostable, biodegradable, and recyclable materials where possible.
✅ Low-Waste Production – Our blending process is designed to minimise waste and environmental impact.
✅ Supporting Local & Fair Trade – We prioritise small-scale, ethical growers and invest in fair wages and sustainable farming communities.

Giving Back to the Land

Being kaitiaki (guardians) of the land means giving back to Papatūānuku (Mother Earth). That’s why we support native reforestation efforts and work towards reducing our carbon footprint. By choosing Tī Ani, you’re helping to support a more sustainable and ethical tea industry.

Future Goals

We’re always looking for ways to do better. Our future sustainability goals include:

Exploring New Zealand-based packaging solutions.
Partnering with local conservation projects to give back to the whenua.
Continuing to reduce plastic use and carbon emissions across our supply chain.

Thank You for Supporting Ethical Tea

As a Māori-owned business, we are proud to share teas that honor both our whenua and our traditions. Every cup of Tī Ani tea is a step towards a greener, more sustainable future.

Thank you for choosing a brand that values people, planet, and whakapapa.
