A premium hand-picked tea from Assam, India. Grown at sea level in a warm climate, Assam tea is known for its full-bodied malty flavour, deep aroma and a brisk taste. Naturally high in caffeine, with a rich supply of plant compounds, it may boost immunity, as well as a healthy heart and brain function. It's great as a breakfast tea, shared with your guest or if you are like me I love to take a flask of tea on my hikes - this is great when on the colder tracks to warm up and refresh again. Every tea lover needs Black Assam tea in the pantry!
I remember the first time I tried Black Assam, my reaction was 'This is what black tea should taste like? This is delicious!' The full flavours and aroma lifts your spirits, it's warming and incredibly smooth. Black Assam is a great talking point for guest at my house, when I tell them it's black tea they have the same questions I did when I first tried it, we've been drinking the wrong black tea for years New Zealand! I steep twice with black tea, the first steep brings out the dark malty flavour with a brisk taste. I don't leave this for long maybe only 1 minute. I'll steep a second time and leave 2 minutes. This increases the flavours, they become smooth, malty and with a little sweetness. If you are a black tea drinker, try this one and remember not to over steep black teas or they become bitter.
